Camping at Banff Alberta National Park

Getting out in the great outdoors is what camping at the Banff Alberta National Park is all about. Outdoor enthusiasts will not be disappointed with this year round campground, located not far from the Village of Lake Louise. There are several beautiful sites to choose from depending on the wants and needs of the group or individual.

The camping sites close to Lake Louise offer larger units for RVs and such. There is full and partial power hook ups available. This camp site is located within and electric fence, for the protection of campers that want to see the outdoors, but not throw themselves into its mercy. The Lake Louise Tent Campground is also incredibly close to the more ‘civilized’ Banff Alberta attractions, like shopping, local attractions and shows or programs.

Outside the fence campers will find 187 sites which offer electricity hook ups and a standard picnic table. There are some electric only sites for RVs up to 15 meters, or 50 ‘in length. Each of these well maintained sites are set up for no more than 6 campers, and only 2 vehicles. There is a gravel area at each site to accommodate vehicles.
The campgrounds do have showers, both hot and cold running water and flush toilets. There is also an area for refuge to be disposed of. There are rules and regulations per site regarding fires and alcohol, with fire rules greatly affected by the weather.

Campers who aren’t really prepared will love the equipped campsites in Banff Alberta ranging from $32.30 to $41.10, with and without fire respectively. Wood will be provided for those who want the rustic atmosphere, in which to roast mallows or wieners, which are not included. These sites include everything campers need including a preset 4-6 person tent, stove, propane, lantern, sleeping pad, a permit, camping guide and even a camping orientation session. All that is required, are the campers.
